Locum Tenens (Books 1 &2) by Jay Beckstead

I was recently gifted a copy of the Locum Tenens by Jay Beckstead. Locum Tenens  is a new action-packed series of books that has caught my eye, and I could not put it down. I must say that it says that it is for young adults, however, I would not feel comfortable for my son to read this book, at least not for another few years.

In book one, the author Mr. Beckstead introduces us to Mike, who is a very smart, and intelligent person, whom has always dreamed about continuing on with his education. Mike has studied extremely hard to get the scores necessary for advanced schooling, only to be coerced by his community to take his brother's place in military training as Mike's brother is being discharged from military training. Will Mike give up what he wants most, which is to pursue a higher education, or will Mike be forced into military training by the community which is poverty stricken by the government. In book two, Jay Beckstead leads you further on with Mike's story as it brings to life the vivid details and keeps you on your toes in a fast pace setting. It was very hard to put the second book down, as the story continues with Mike going through his vigorous life threatening military training. Furthermore several other men become less fortunate and die due to the harsh and brutal training. Will Mike continue with these harsh brutal training's, and what does the government have in store for Mike? I look forward to the next book in hopes that my questions will get answered.
